CHARLOTTE – Norman C. Day, 101, died Feb. 12, 2004, at a Calais healthcare facility. He was born May 22, 1902, at Cooper, the son of Willis G. and Martha E. (Moore) Day. Mr. Day was predeceased by his wife, Delia M. (James) Day in 1993; one daughter, Viola; and one son, Lawrence. Surviving are three sons, Arnold F. Day of Washington, Byron M. Day of New Mexico, and Norman O. Day of Charlotte; one daughter, Lillian G. Walsh of Ireland; one sister, June Emerson of Texas; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, Calais, by Pastor Bob Hinton. Burial will follow in the Round Pond Cemetery, Charlotte. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. At the request of the family donations in his memory may be made to the Charlotte Baptist Church, Charlotte, 04666.
