TORRINGTON, Conn. – Laura Wallace Madore, 101, died June 7, 2006. She was the wife of the late William A. Madore. Born Jan. 15, 1905, in Caribou, she was the daughter of Theodore C. and Bertha (Wright) Wallace. She had lived in Torrington, Conn. since 1924. She was employed as a buyer for W. W. Mertz Store for 35 years. She belonged to the Republican Women’s Club, St. Anne Society and St. Francis Mission Guild. Laura was very proud to be from Caribou. She often talked about Caribou with people that she met over the years. She is survived by one daughter, June Silvernale and her husband, George, of Dania Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Bill, Scott, Jan and Jim; five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Theodore and Carlton; her sister, Agnes; and twin sisters, Madeline and Margaret. Funeral services were held June 13, in Torrington, Conn. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery.
