LEROY ‘BUCK’ KNOWLES ADDISON – Leroy “Buck” Knowles, 56, went to be with the Lord Sept. 29, 2003, in Machias, after an unexpected illness with cancer. He was born April 5, 1947, in Machiasport, the son of Norman and Viola Knowles. He was a big sports fan. He loved hunting, basketball, baseball, and he coached softball. He also had several cats that he loved. He was predeceased by his father, Norman Knowles, and step-grandchild, Dawson (Dwight) Allen. He is survived by his loving companion of 30 plus years, Georgianna Allen; his son, Chuck Knowles, and his girlfriend Melissa, of N.H.; a daughter, Geraldine Knowles, of Jonesport; a brother, Jerry Knowles, and his wife, Cheryl, of Machiasport, and their family; his mother, Viola Knowles, of Milbridge; a granddaughter, Sharon Richards and grandson, Donald Therrien III; several stepchildren, Cindy Merchant, and her husband, Ned; Susan White, and her companion, Gary; Debbie Seavey, and her husband, Herman; Priscilla Tibbetts, and husband, David; Loretta Emerson, and her husband, Clifton; Janice Floyd, and her husband, Harold, Charlotte Alley, and her companion, Jimmy; and their families; several step-grandchildren; and special friends. Leroy had a very special friend, John, and his wife, Leeann, and their family, whom he loved dearly. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A ceremony will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct., 4, 2003, at Beals Wesleyan Church, Beals Island, where a reception will follow.
