LEROY G. MITCHELL JR. CORINNA – Leroy G. Mitchell Jr., 82, the husband of Dorothy (Ben-son) Mitchell, died Oct. 3, 2003, at the Dexter Healthcare Center after a short illness. He was born Aug. 12, 1921, in Bangor, the son of Leroy and Lillie (Bright) Mitchell Sr. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a former employee of the Orono Woolen Mill, retiring in 1986. He also had been a radio and TV repairman. Leroy was a former resident of Bangor, moving to Corinna in 1986 to marry Dorothy. He was a member of the Bangor Baptist Church and attended the Pleasant Street Christian Church in Corinna. Surviving in addition to his wife of Corinna are one brother, Edward Mitchell; and a sister, Mildred King, both of Bangor; seven stepchildren, Carol Ervin and Aloyse Larrabee, both of Dexter, Robert Ervin of Corinna, Susan Newell of Clifton, Lucretia Smith of Newport, Michael Ervin of Waterville, and Brian Ervin of Bangor; many step-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Pleasant St. Christian Church in Corinna, Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. with Rev. Edward Jaworski officiating. Burial will be in the Nutter Cemetery, Corinna. Arrangements are by the Thompson Funeral Home, 30 St. Albans Road, Corinna.
