LIMESTONE – Leslie H. McDougal, 82, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died unexpectedly Monday morning, Jan. 16, 2006, at a Caribou healthcare facility. He was born March 22, 1923, in Caswell, the son of Stephen and Susan (Caldwell) McDougal. Les attended local schools and was a communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. McDougal was predeceased by his wife, Muriel J. (Regan) McDougal on Nov. 30, 2005; one son, Robert McDougal; stepson, Ernie McGonagle; two brothers, Everett McDougal and Pat McDougal; two sisters, Annie McDougal and Angie McEwen. Les was also predeceased by his former wife, Verna Shaw. He is survived by three sons, John McDougal and his wife, Kyle, Timothy McDougal and his wife, Debra, George Brent and his wife, Nancy, all of Connecticut; three daughters, Sheila Salzarillo and her husband, Mike, Nancy Wilson and her husband, Richard, all of Connecticut, Dawn Guzman and her companion, George Tamburello, both of Limestone; one sister, Sybil Lunn of Salinas, Calif.; several grandchildren, including special grandchildren, Matt and Michael Guzman and Ann and James Wilson, all of Limestone; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be dearly remembered by special friends, the Rev. Ellen Cleaves and her husband, Malcom Stairs, of Limestone. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where vigil prayers will be recited by the Rev. David Raymond. Friends may also call 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, until the time of departure for the St. Louis Catholic Church, 100 Main St., Limestone, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Raymond, celebrant. A time of fellowship will be held at the church immediately following the funeral Mass. Spring interment will take place at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. McDougal to the American Lung Assoc., 122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330. Envelopes will be available at both the church and funeral home.
