MACHIAS – Lillian Arlene Williams, 81, formerly of Pembroke, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at a Machias healthcare facility. Mrs. Williams was born Aug. 5, 1923, in Dexter, the daughter of the late Everett and Arlene (Brown) Waite. She was employed as a receptionist for DHS in Machias and also for Dr. Dorr at his dental office. Mrs. Williams was a Pioneer Girls Guide and taught Sunday School and Daily Vacation Bible School for several years. Surviving are two sons, the Rev. Donn Williams and his wife, Susan, of Troy, N.H., and Edwin Williams and his wife, Sally, of Charlotte; a daughter, Priscilla James and her husband, Ernest, of Charlotte; a brother, the Rev. Duane Waite of Andover; a sister, Patricia Olmsted of Charleston; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her husband, Keith M. Williams; a daughter, Gail Joyce Williams; and two brothers, Winifield Waite and Nielson Waite. Friends may call 12:30-2 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2005, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Sprague officiating. A spring burial will take place in Corinthian Cemetery, East Corinth.
