HODGDON – Roy A. Quint, 82, died March 9, 2005, at a local hospital. He was born April 14, 1922, at Hodgdon, the son of Olin and Hazel (Tidd) Quint. Roy traveled to the Philippines where he became a certified welder and later served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Hodgdon Methodist Church and a life-long farmer in Hodgdon. He enjoyed sports and his camp at Deering Lake, but the love of his life was his grandchildren. Roy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Maxine (Madden) Quint; four sons, Duane Quint and his wife, Bonnie, Galen Quint and his wife, Jill, Randy Quint and his wife, Deanna, Olin Quint and his wife, Tracy, all of Hodgdon; one daughter, Andrea Nightingale and her husband, Frank “Buzzy” of New Limerick; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Forrest Quint and his wife, Betty, of Hodgdon; one sister, Virgie Ingraham of Hodgdon; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Shirley and Clayton Quint, Gilbert Murphy; two sisters, Lou Mason and Gertrude London Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Dunn Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Marilyn Rohdin officiating. Interment will be in the Hodgdon Cemetery. Gifts may be made in Roy’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Support Group or the Hodgdon Methodist Church, care of Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St., Houlton.
