LORI-JEAN (FITZHERBERT) MCNAUGHTON WEST GARDINER – Lori-Jean (Fitzherbert) McNaughton, 48, died unexpectedly on Oct. 1, 2003, while visiting friends in Embden. Lori was a loving, caring person. Lori cared very much for those around her and showed this by giving of herself in many ways. She was a devoted daughter, sister and true friend to anyone in need, whether with tail or tale. Lori’s joy-filled spirit was “larger than life” itself, and guided her through many difficulties. Lori was a friend to animals of all kinds. It was not unusual for her to have 5-6 needy creatures receiving love and affection from her. She is survived by her son, Philip Justin Fitzherbert, the true love and focus of Lori’s life. She was a loving mother. Her best friend, whom she diligently nurtured and guided through an educational system that often posed barriers to his special needs. She proudly watched on as he graduated from Gardiner High, June 2003. Lori was predeceased by her parents, Joan and Philip Fitzherbert; and her first husband, Arnie McNaughton. She is also survived by her husband, Francis White; her sisters, Paula Larrabee and Janice Pilotte and her husband, David; nieces, Sarah and Sheena Larrabee and her great nephew, Adrian; special friends, Topper Adams and Dan Witham. Justin wishes he had been able to say “I love you” and give her one last kiss and hug. “I LOVE YOU MOM…forever, rest in peace, Mom.” Friends and relatives may visit Monday 2-3 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, where a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m.
