BANGOR – Madeline Anne Harding, 90, died Nov. 18, 2003, at her residence in Bangor. She was born July 28, 1913, in Dixmont, the daughter of Sidney and Anne (McMann) Leavitt. Madeline lived in the Bangor area most of her life and attended John Bapst High School. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. John’s Catholic Church in Bangor. She was a gentle caring person and dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great-grand-children and great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Richard Harding of Chicopee, Mass., George Harding of Enumclaw, Wash., three daughters, Charlotte Harding, Patricia Clark, Frances Fay, all of Bangor; 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grand-children, and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Harding in 1985. Friends are invited to meet with the family 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin Celebrant. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Old Town. The family invites relatives and friends for conversation and refreshment at Miller’s Restaurant following the services.
