BANGOR – Margaret M. Washburn, 86, died Feb. 27, 2007, at a Brewer health care center. She was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Bangor, the daughter of Harry and Marjorie (Montgomery) Washburn. Margaret graduated with honors from John Bapst Memorial High School. After high school, she was employed at Gotlieb and Rolnick, Freeze’s department store and Libby’s Card Shop. Margaret was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor. She had a passion for sewing and made many outfits in her younger years for her nieces and great-nieces. She also loved making dolls and giving them to her loved ones. She was predeceased by two brothers, Everett and James Washburn. Surviving are two nieces, Patricia Pollard of Holden and Ann Massey and her husband, Richard, of Severna Park, Md.; two great-nieces, Michelle White and her husband, Norm, and their two children, Elizabeth and Morgan, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Nicole Pollard of Old Orchard Beach; one great-nephew, Eric Massey and his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Chase and Jordan, of Chester, Md.; and several cousins. She will be remembered by special friends, Connie Soucy and Carol Webber. Friends may visit 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 4, at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Bangor, with the Very Rev. Richard McLaughlin, pastor, celebrant.
