HARRINGTON and CHERRYFIELD – Marie E. (Dorr) Lindsey, 96, died July 21, 2007, at Milbridge health care facility. She was born Sept. 28, 1910, in Columbia, the daughter of Vernon and Lucy (Smith) Dorr. Marie graduated from Harrington High School and attended Washington State Normal School for one year. She was a member of Harrington Methodist Church and Ladies Aide. Marie was a gentle, happy person, who will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, June Rand and her husband, Robert, of Ellsworth and Joyce Fickett and her husband, Richard, of Cherryfield; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Estelle Donvan of San Jose, Calif., and two nieces. In addition to her parents and her husband of 65 years, Maynard Lindsey, she was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Allen and Alice Drinkwater; and one brother, LaForrest Donvan. The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers of Narraguagus Bay HCI for the loving care they gave her. A graveside service will be celebrated 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Forest Hill Cemetery, Harrington, with the Rev. Ambrose Rolfe officiating.
