CORINNA and PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Martha Hatfield, 90, died Feb. 17, 2004, at a Clearwater, Fla., hospital. She was born Sept. 18, 1913, at Westerly, R.I., the daughter of Clifford and Lillian (Young) Lawrence. She graduated from Corinna Union Academy and attended the University of Maine at Farmington. For 30 years, Martha was the school lunch director and coordinator for SAD No. 48. She also taught adult education for the school district and at Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. She was the secretary for the State of Maine American School Food Service for two years. She was a member, former Sunday school Superintendent, teacher, and church clerk of the Morse’s Corner Baptist Church in Corinna. She is survived by a brother, Marvin Lawrence of Lebanon; a daughter-in-law, Jean Hatfield of Clearwater, Fla.; a granddaughter with whom she resided, Tammy Hatfield of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and a grandson, Brian Hatfield, also of Palm Harbor, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Hubert on July 4, 1997; and a son, Clayton, on July 26, 1980. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, at the Morse’s Corner Baptist Church, Exeter Road, Corinna, with the Rev. Chris Faloon officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot, Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Morse’s Corner Baptist Church, care of Mr. Ray Blaisdell, Treasurer, 179 Greenbush Road, Corinna, ME 04928.
