MATTAWAMKEAG – Mary Emma Wallace, 77, passed away Aug. 18, 2007, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Nov 27, 1929, in Machias, the daughter of Jonathan C. and Laura (Harmon) Wallace. She was a longtime schoolteacher in the Lincoln school system. She was a member of Mattawamkeag United Methodist Church, Hamm-McGinley VFW Post No. 7409 Auxiliary, Hannah Weston Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Machias, and Katahdin Valley Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by cousins, Eileen Priest, Paul Wallace Sr. and Althea, Paul and Sandra Wallace, Dylan and Christina, and many other cousins; she also leaves special friends, Jo DiCenso and Eddie, Mike Coombs and may other friends and neighbors. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Leon Robinson officiating. Interment will be at Mattawamkeag Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to Mattawamkeag United Methodist Church. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
