BREWER and CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla. – Mary Hellen Burr Parlin, 95, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 23, 1908, in Bangor, the daughter of the late Charles M. and Ellen (Moriearty) Rimbach. Mary attended Bangor schools and married Donald Emerson Burr upon graduation. They had only one daughter, Jane Burr Carroll. Mary and Don ran C.V. Burr’s Store and the Costigan Post Office until his death and her retirement. At the age of 73, she married Lewis E. Parlin and moved to Citrus Springs, Fla., where they lived in good health for the next 20 years. After Lewis died, Mary spent half the year living with a very special half-sister, Alice Bowden and the other half with her daughter and husband at her home in Florida. Mary is survived by her only daughter, Jane Carroll and her husband, Durward; half-sister, Alice Bowden; grandchildren, Kim and Kerry Fifer; daughter-in-law, Heidi Fifer; great-grandchildren, Raven Delcourt and her husband, Mark, Dyani Commeau and her husband, Michael, Mary Ellen Fifer and Luke Richard Fifer; great-great-grandchildren, Makayla Marie Morey, Alexis Rose Carey and Killian Delcourt; nieces, Joan Duplisia and Norma Lee, several cousins; and a very special chair warmer, “Buddy”. She was predeceased by her only brother, John Martin Rimbach. A funeral service will be celebrated 2 p.m. Thursday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, Old Town, with the Rev.
