SEDGWICK – “Mary” Hilda Wardwell, 69, passed April 23, 2005, at the Penobscot Nursing Home. Hilda was born May 10, 1935, on the Micmac reservation in Restigouche, Quebec the daughter of Joseph Anthony and Elizabeth (Mitchell) Dedam. Hilda was a devoted mother and wife. A member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Millinocket for more than 20 years, her pass time was a women’s bowling league for several years and playing cards. Hilda is survived by her husband of 26 years, Dale; two sons, Jeff and his wife, Tamara, of Myrtle Beech, S.C., Don and his wife, Amanda, of York; and her daughter and grandson, Lori and son, Tyler of Gorham; three brothers, Tony, Simon and John; five sisters, Betty, Maggie, Mabel, Hazel and Jacqueline along with many nieces and nephews. Hilda was predeceased by her parents, and five sisters, Florence, Lillian, Helen, Dora and Grace. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Hilda’s name may be made to the Sedgwick Fire Department, P.O. Box 51, Sedgwick, ME 04676. A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. April 27, 2005, at St Mary’s Star of the Sea. Interment will be in rural cemetery in Sedgwick.
