HOWLAND – Velma R. Walker, 72, wife of the late Leon Walker, died April 24, 2005, at a Howland nursing home. She was born May 16, 1932, in Howland the daughter of Raymond and Pauline (Harris) Dugans. Velma was Postmistress in Seboeis for many years, then she went to L.P.N. school later in life. She worked at Colonial Acres Nursing Home for many years. She was a member of the Howland United Methodist Church and the Passadumkeag Grange. She is survived by three sons, Leon Walker and Debora of Prospect, Lawrence Walker and Michelle of Lewisville, N.C., and Daniel Walker and Vicky of Prospect; a twin sister, Thelma Lee and Robert of Howland; one granddaughter, Jennifer; two grandsons, Daniel and Tyler; two close cousins, Carolyn Brown and Pauline Armour; and close great-niece and great-nephews, Mercedes, Grant and Nelson Kiden; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Dugans Jr. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2005, at the Seboeis Cemetery, with the Rev.
