DETROIT – Mary “Mitzi” F. Sparrow, 75, died April 2, 2007, at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born April 5, 1931, in Northampton, Pa., daughter of Rudolf and Bridgette Kaintz. She attended Calvary Baptist Church, Newport. Mitzi was very active in the Salvation Army and had received numerous awards for her service. She is survived by her husband, Ray F. Sparrow of Detroit; a son, Ray J. Sparrow of Ohio; two brothers, Rudolf and his wife, Joanne Kaintz, and August and his wife, Doreen; two sisters, Paula Weaver and Margaret Brindock and her husband, Tom, all of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, at Calvary Baptist Church, Newport with the Rev. George Finnemore officiating.
