EDDINGTON – Maxine (Carlow) Pelletier went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ May 30, 2007, after a brief illness. She was born July 7, 1926, in Milford, the daughter of Everett and Verna (Davis) Carlow. Maxine graduated from Old Town High School, Class of 1944. She worked for many years in the hot lunch program first in Old Town and later in Greenbush. She had a special place in her heart for each child she came in contact with. Maxine also touched the lives of everyone she met. She was quick to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. She loved to talk about Jesus and to introduce Him to those she met. If you were around her long enough she couldn’t help but talk about Him. He was her everything. Maxine’s special interests always included some-one else, whether it as making mittens for children that didn’t have any or making sweaters or quilts for her family and friends. She baked whoopee pies and bread for many people to brighten their day and was very active in church. She was greatly loved and adored and will be missed by her husband of 53 years, Albert. She will be sadly missed by her children, Frank Dumond and wife, Gerri, of Milford, Richard Dumond of Eddington, Mike Pelletier and wife, Kim, of Greenbush, and Laura Viner and husband, Jim, of Kenduskeag. Maxine was a special Nina to Hannah, Naomi, Cory, Sarah, David, Rachel, Alexa, and Marissa; as well as a wonderful grandmother to Troy, Todd, Frank, Albert, Joshua, Mike, Kenny, Tammy, Danny and Kristie. She is survived by four sisters, Etta Paine, Alberta Stevens, Orisa Stevens and Edna Bolen; brother, Dick Carlow; many nieces and nephews. Maxine was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Herbert. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 4, at United Baptist Church, 86 Middle St., Old Town. Interment will be afterward at Eddy Cemetery, Route 178, Eddington. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the church hall after services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Youth Group at either Word of Life Christian Center, 8 Molly Lane, Bangor, ME 04401 or to United Baptist Church, 86 Middle St., Old Town, ME 04468. Maxine’s family extends their appreciation to the staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center who compassionately cared for her.
