SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. and ST. DAVID – Mira Rana Michaud, 68, beloved wife and mother, unexpectedly passed away Dec. 27, 2005, and lived in Sun City West, Ariz. Born at the “Top of the World” in Kathmandu, Nepal in 1937, she adventurously immigrated to the United States in 1955. She quickly graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University where she met and married the love of her life, Bob. They settled in Maine and she was a devoted mother to four daughters who will forever remember her love, encouragement and generosity. Her energy was enormous and she made an indelible impression on all who met her. Mira spent many years as a school teacher, challenging young minds to consider the world beyond Northern Maine. Mira was active in numerous community activities and hobbies, most notably golf and tournament level bridge, attaining Silver Lifemaster status in 1998. Friendships were especially important to Mira, resulting in a circle of friends that spanned the globe. Our beloved Mira will truly, forever be missed. She is survived by her dear husband, Bob; daughters, Yvette, Yvonne, Tanya and Sonya; seven grandchildren, and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be sent to the Nepalese Children’s Education Fund, P.O. Box 380061, Cambridge, MA 02238-0061, U.S.A., in memory of Mira Rana Michaud.
