CALAIS – Muriel “Sister” Brooks, 68, died Feb. 8, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Dec. 19, 1939, in Robbinston, the daughter of the late Hollis and Helen (Warren) Brooks. Muriel worked in many places, but her favorite was as a taxi driver in Biloxi, Miss. She loved the people and made many friends. She always had a feisty way, as her family and friends knew. She lived the last few years in a Calais assisted living home, which she loved and made many friends. She loved her family and got together with them as often as possible. She would always light up when she mentioned her grandkids and her grandbabies. She will be missed by her family, daughter, Cindy Roberts and husband, Mike, of Limington; son, Raymond Pottle and wife, Christine, of Carmel; six grandchildren, Mike Jr., Katie and Sandy Roberts and Mary Axelsen of Limington, Sonya Bowers of Carmel and Alisa Chaloult of Pembroke; six bro-thers, Alfred, John A. and Mer-rill Brooks, of Robbinston, Ger-ald Watt of Bucksport, Stuart and Daniel Murphy of Calais; three sisters, Barbara Brooks of Perry, Marian McGouldrick of Calais and Joan Bev Brooks of Washington state; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a very special aunt, Irene “Reenie” Diffin of Perry; and uncle, John K. Brooks of Robbinston A memorial service will be held in the spring. Arrangements by Memorial Alternatives, 205 Center St., Bangor.
