STACYVILLE – Orie “Bunny” Hunt, 86, died Feb. 15, 2008, in Bangor. He was born May 16, 1921, in Stacyville, the son of William and Fern (Davenport) Hunt. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Bunny was a deputy sheriff for Aroostook and Penobscot Counties for more than 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary (Richards) Hunt of Stacyville; three children, Errol Hunt and his friend, Linda Slauenwhite, of Sher-man, Vivian and her husband, Fred Brownlee, of Patten and Carl Hunt of Stacyville; five grandchildren, Peggy, Amy, Robbie and his friend, Linda Shaw, Lisa and her husband, Tom Craig, and Joseph; five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Tessa, Hunter, Walker and Melanie; one sister, Faye Rodgerson Cram of Waldoboro; three stepchildren, Robert and Joan Sawyer of Dexter, Thomas and Joelle Sawyer of Monson and Theresa Sawyer and her friend, Joe, of Monson and their children. Friends my call noon-2 p.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church, Stacyville, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with the Revs. Ken Pelkey and Donnis Willigar officiating. Spring interment will be at Sherman Corner Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls.
