EDDINGTON – Myron E. Grover, 83, died unexpectedly July 30, 2005, at the Maine Veterans’ Home. He was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Eddington, the son of Percy C. and Caddie (Parsons) Grover). Myron’s mother died when he was seven years old and was raised by his father. He was a life long resident of Eddington only to leave home to join the 243rd Field Artillery Battalion with the U.S. Army in combat during World War II. It was at this time his only sibling Percy C. Grover died in combat, at the age of 20. Upon returning from the war, he worked on the family farm. He also worked for the State of Maine Department of Transportation, retiring after 43 years of service. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene Mavis (Page) Grover, in 1982; and his father in 1971; he is survived by one son, Cleon Paul Grover and his wife, Debbie, of Corinna; one daughter, Nancy G. Burns and her husband, Buddy, of Eddington; two stepgrandchildren, Jennifer M. Benson and her husband, Anders, of Bangor, and Roy V. Burns of Hollywood, Calif. and Eddington; one eight year-old grandson, the love of Myron’s life, Thomas Grover Burns of Eddington; one brother-in-law, Kenneth W. Page of Eddington; several nieces, nephews, and their families, from Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at the Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, where family and friends will encouraged to share their thoughts and memories. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Route 9, Eddington.
