LINCOLN – Myrtle A. Burnham, 91, died Dec. 4, 2005, at a Lincoln nursing home. She was born May 15, 1914, in Manset, the daughter of Ralph and Audrey (Dolliver) Mayo. She graduated from Deering High School in 1932 and married Edward Burnham in 1934. She was past chief of the Pythian Sisters and past matron and a life member of Pine Grove Chapter No. 55 OES. Mrs. Burnham was employed at Lee Academy for 25 years prior to her retirement. She is survived by a son, Gordon “Rusty” Burnham and his wife, Patricia, of Lincoln; three granddaughters, Amy Dixon and her husband, Shon, of Fairfield, Keely Burnham of Franklin, Tenn. and Meghan Hassele and her husband, Guy, of Oakland; two great-granddaughters, Elena Hassele and Dustee Dixon; a brother, Stanley D. Mayo of Winslow. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward in 1993; a son, Richard in 1985; and a brother, Herbert Mayo. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Terry Upcott officiating. Interment will be in the Amherst Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to Alice and Fred Dobson Memorial Fund, at the First Bible Baptist Church of Lincoln.
