BAR HARBOR – Nancy C. Libby, 70, died Oct. 20, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 17, 1934, in Boston, the daughter of Dr. Silas A. and Phyllis C. Coffin. Nancy attended St. Edwards School in Bar Harbor, Higgins Classical in Charleston, and Boston University, where she graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education. Her teaching career included positions with the United Fruit Co. in Guatamala, and, subsequently the towns of Limestone and Northeast Harbor. Nancy married Richard S. Libby, Aug. 17, 1962. She loved to travel with her husband and every spring she would look forward to a trip to parts of either the USA, Portugal, Spain, England, the Caribbean or Asia. Nancy had a great love for people and she enjoyed working at a variety of local Bar Harbor businesses and at the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce information center, where she spent many happy summers welcoming summer people to town. She also loved to read and had worked for many years compiling the genealogy of her family. She is survived by her husband, Richard S. Libby of Bar Harbor; her mother, Phyllis C. Coffin of Bangor; a son, Seth E. Libby of Bar Harbor and fianc?, Simonette Tan, of Manila, Philippines; a daughter, Selina C.L. and her husband, Keith McGlauflin, of Sidney; three grandchildren; Paige, Kai and Aiden McGlauflin. Friends are invited to call, 5- 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Jordan-Fernald, 48 Eden St., Bar Harbor. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25, at the Bar Harbor Congregational Church, with the Rev. Dr. Sandra Reed officiating. Interment will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
