BLUE HILL – Newman Wilson Eaton Jr., 57, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Togus VA Hospital. He was born July 23, 1949, in Blue Hill, the son of Newman Sr. and Nellie (Rice) Eaton. He graduated from Stonington High School. Newman was a member of the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1974, during which time he served in active duty in Vietnam. He received many medals, including a Purple Heart and received an honorable discharge. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years, Margaret; one son, Newman W. and fiancee, Heather; two very special grandchildren he loved so much, Jonathan and Sarah Eaton; one sister, Dixie; and two brothers, Robert and Craig. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Shawn; father, Newman Sr.; and five brothers and sisters, Clarence and Jeffery, and as infants, Mary, Royce and Dean. A visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, Stonington, where funeral services will be held 1p.m. Monday. www.bragdonkelley.com
