HERMON – Norman D. Maples, 78, died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1929, in Laurelton, Long Island, N.Y., the son of Norman D. Sr. and Alice (Ring) Maples. Norman proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Doris; two daughters, Pamela Duran and Cindy Puiia; son, Michael Maples; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
