BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. and HAMPDEN – Paul A. Hughes, 72, of Boynton Beach, Fla. and formerly of Hampden, passed away on Feb. 16, 2005. He was the son of the late Edward and Arlene Hughes. Paul was vice-president of Hughes Brothers and served in the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and animal lover. Paul was a loving, giving, gentle and kind hearted man who had many friends. With his charming demeanor, he loved to make others laugh. He will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; a son, Timothy Hughes of Boynton Beach; two brothers Edward Hughes of Largo, Fla., and William Hughes of Bangor; two grandchildren Timothy and Cassidy; stepchildren John, Thomas, Glenn, Roberta and Darlene Teeto. He was predeceased by a sister, Joan Hughes; and brother, Richard Hughes, both of Bangor. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, at the Lorne & Sons Funeral Home, 745 NE 6th Ave. (North Federal Highway), Delray Beach, Fla. A funeral mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 South Military Trail, Boynton Beach. Funeral services will be held at a later date in Maine.
