EAST MILLINOCKET – Paul E. Snowman, 63, beloved son of Leona and the late Reverend Preston W. Snowman, passed away, Friday, Oct. 14, 2005, at Millinocket Regional Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. He was born April 24, 1942, in Medway. Paul was a devout and faithful Christian and avid outdoorsman. His family and friends considered him to be somewhat of a North Woods renaissance man. Paul enjoyed the outdoors, flying, current events, photography, woodworking, kayaking, birds, Bible study and discussion, and overall grandchildren bragging. To his grandchildren he was the world’s expert fisherman, bicycle-rider instructor, hope-chest maker and tooth-pulling advisor. To his children he was a wise and loving father. To his beloved wife he was a loyal husband, sweet love and childhood friend. He is survived by his wife, Roberta; his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas P. and Marilois of Falmouth, Mass.; daughter, Pamela J. of East Millinocket; and son and daughter-in-law, Daniel P. and Alaysha of North Providence, R.I. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Valerie Harris, Williard C. Walker III, John D. Snowman and Spencer Snowman. He was eagerly anticipating the birth of his fifth grandchild, Grace or Paul, due to arrive in late November. In addition to his mother, Paul also leaves seven brothers and sisters, David and Sandi Snowman of Lewiston, Ruth (Snowman) and Philip Mitchell of Medway, Carl and Star Snowman of Dover, Del., Jean (Snowman) and Tim Meade of Colonial Heights, Va., Mark and Judi Snowman of Straffod, N.Y., Joyce (Snowman) and Joe Mancini of Alpharetta, Ga., Janice (Snowman) and Toby Sarvis of Alpharetta, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews. “Uncle” Paul also leaves behind many adoring school children, whose bus he drove. He celebrated their birthdays and developed simple, creative solutions to challenges on “the red squirrel” bus route. His “birthday bag” will be sorely missed. Friends and family may call from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A funeral service will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, at Calvary Temple Assemblies of God Church, East Millinocket. Interment will be in grindstone Road Cemetery, Medway. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Association. Donations may be left at the funeral home. For an online register book, please visit www.clayfuneralhome.com
