EAGLE LAKE – Pauline (Carney) Labbe, 92, died peacefully March 22, 2008, at an Eagle Lake health care facility. She was born April 22, 1915, in Wallagrass, daughter of Israel and Marie “Saucier” Carney. Pauline was a member of Ladies of St. Anne of Wallagrass. She spent most of her life in Wallagrass, but enjoyed seven of her later years at Mountain View Village, Fort Kent. She then spent the last years of her life at Mercy Home, Eagle Lake. She was predeceased by her husband, Lucien Labbe in 1994; and was also predeceased by her two sisters, Grace Carney Dube and Mildred Carney Abresch. Pauline is survived by her son, Melvin Labbe and his wife, Rena (Sutherland), of Madawaska; twin daughters, Patricia Fournier and her husband, Roger, of Wallagrass and Nancy Soucy and her husband, Donald, of Plainville, Conn.; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephew. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Wallagrass. In Pauline’s memory, those who wish may donate to the American Heart Association, 51 U.S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
