MEDWAY – Peter J. Misiura Sr., 84, died unexpectedly in Medway, Sept. 30, 2004. He was born June 21, 1920, in Olyphant, Pa., the son of Anthony and Mary (Zarnowski) Misiura. Peter was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member Feeney-Groves Post No. 13, American Legion, East Millinocket. He worked for Great Northern Paper Company for 33 years, retiring in 1982. He was communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Peter was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and mushroom picking. After his retirement, Peter looked so forward to his daily maintenance routine at his son’s auto body shop. He kept an active lifestyle to the very end. He is survived by three children, Jacqueline and her husband, Ronald Dart, of Wayland, Mass., Sharon and her husband, Alan Wheel, of Levant, and Peter Misiura Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Medway; five grandchildren, Paul Putnam, Erica Dart, Peter Misiura III, Mark Misiura and Hayley Cannon; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Misiura, Logan Homstead-Cannon and Elliott Misiura; five siblings, Sophie Hynak, Anthony Misiura and Thomas Misiura, all of Pennsylvania, Hedwig Faenza of New Jersey and Jeanette Misiura of Massachusetts, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Annette M. Misiura; a daughter, Carolyn Strang; and a granddaughter, Tara Putnam. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Avenue, East Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Millinocket.
