HERMON – Phyllis M. Blanchard, 76, of Hermon, died at her home Sept. 28, 2004, after a courageous struggle with lung cancer. She was born Sept. 12, 1928, the daughter of Bertie E. and Annie M. White. Phyllis enjoyed dancing and singing, and she loved to play the guitar. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling and camping with her family and friends. She was a very devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed. She is survived by her husband, Maurice “Moppy” Blanchard; five children, Linda Dube’ and her husband, Phil, of Hermon, Jim Blanchard and his wife, Judy, of Hudson, Patty Harnden and her husband, Scott, of Hudson, Moe Blanchard and his wife, Nancy, of Kenduskeag and Dick Blanchard and his wife, Patty, of Carmel; two sisters, Charlotte Curtis of Bangor and Irene Adams, of Holden. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves behind a very special little buddy and loyal companion, her little poodle, “Miki”. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1., with assistant Pastor Dennis Harvey of Calvary Chapel, Orrington, officiating. A committal service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Hermon. Following the burial, there will be a celebration of her life, at her home in Hermon, where family and friends are invited to attend.
