STONINGTON – Phyllis Royle Geary, 90, of Stonington, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at a South Portland healthcare facility with her loved ones present. Born in Bridgeport, Pa., she was a daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Royle. She was a graduate of West Chester State Teacher’s College in Pennsylvania with a major in music. Her love of music continued all her life from her choral work, her church choirs, being the church organist, to piano recitals at Carnegie Hall. She gave to others through her talent. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Alger W. Geary. Surviving are her daughter, Lois G. Hardy and her husband of South Portland; another daughter, Lynn G. Boyer and her partner of San Mateo, Calif.; her many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the South Gorham Baptist Church, County Road, Gorham, with the Rev. Peter Beckwith officiating. Graveside committal services will be held 12 noon Saturday, Dec. 6, at Mount Rest Cemetery, Burnt Cove in Stonington, with the Rev. Gary Vencill officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Root Cellar, 94 Washington Ave., Portland, ME 04101. Arrangements are by Dolby and Dorr Funeral Chapel, Gorham.
