MILLINOCKET – Ralph B. Moore, 80, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at a local healthcare facil-ity surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Millinocket, the son of the late Bruce W. and Ida Belle (Steen) Moore. Ralph attended Stearns High School. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1943 to January 1946 where he served in the Battle of the Bulge with the 3rd Army Combat Engineers in Germany. He received four campaign ribbons while stationed in Germany. Ralph lived his entire life in Millinocket and retired from Great Northern Paper Company in 1987 after 42 years of service as Machinist, Roll Grinder, and Blacksmith. In addition to his family, Ralph loved going to his camp at North Twin, fishing, hunting, and snow sledding. He loved to go for rides with his son, James; and dog, Spike. He was an active member of the Northern Timber Cruisers and VFW Post No. 4154. He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Millinocket. Ralph is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjory Ann (Farquhar) Moore; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Moore of Newport News, Va., David Moore and wife, Judith, of Millinocket, James Moore and wife, Jan, of Millinocket; two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn Bishop and husband, Richard, of Surry and Linda Valley and husband, Stanley, of Jacksonville, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, Suvichat Yahatta, Natnopadol Yahatta, Narvenol Yahatta, Christopher Moore, Ryan Moore, Joshuha Moore, Vanessa Duprey, Samantha Moore, Michael Bishop, Meredith Bishop, Aaron Valley, and Brian Valley; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Yahatta and Angelita Yahatta. Ralph was predeceased by three sisters and one brother, Evelyn, Leona, Anne and Harold; and one daughter-in-law, Kimthong Moore. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where VFW Post No. 4154 will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 1, 2005, at the funeral home with the Rev. Carolyn Bradley, pastor of the First Congregational Church officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Millinocket Cemetery in the Spring.
