INDIAN ISLAND – Ramona M. Ranco, 78, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, surrounded by her family at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Old Town, the daughter of the late Alvin Norwood and Frances (Sapiel) Currier. She is survived and will be sadly missed by two daughters, Ava Clavette of Milford and Sheila Sapiel of Indian Island; a sister, Faye Norwood of Indian Island; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins; two special friends, Sharon Snell and Lisa Shirland, both of Indian Island. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Irving M. Ranco; a brother, Richard Norwood; and a sister, Jacqueline Nelson. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Indian Island, with the Rev. Thomas Farley, celebrant and Deacon Fred Harrigan, homilist.
