RAYMOND R. HARTT DUMFRIES, Va. – Raymond Ralph Hartt, 78, of Dumfries, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Arlington, Va. He was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Raymond served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. In 1962, he opened Hartt’s Restaurant in Presque Isle. In 1967, he moved the restaurant to Mars Hill, and he also operated The Pizza Parlor. Raymond owned and operated both locations until 1982. Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Louise Hartt; stepmother, June Carter; son, Keith Hartt; brothers, Bernard and Leonard Hartt Jr.; and his sister, Marie Fillmore. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence V. Hartt of Dumfries, Va.; three daughters, Jean Hartt of Hudson, Debra Greene of Colombia, S.C., and Tina Proctor of Dumfries, Va.; three sons, Michael Hartt of Dumfries, Va., Wayne Hartt of Stillwater and Bruce Hartt of Miami, Fla.; four sisters, Christine Barta of Oswrego, Ore., Marline Clark of Bristol, Conn., Penny McCall and Linda Zeigler, both of Terryville, Conn.; his brother, Donald Hartt of Wallingford, Conn.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12:15 Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 18825 Fuller Heights Road, Triangle, VA 22172, with interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
