PALM DESERT, Calif. – Ren-eau Marquis was called to be with our Lord Feb. 26, 2007, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. He can honestly say, “I fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. I have come to the end of my journey.” Reneau was born Dec. 22, 1927, the fourth of 11 children, to Donat and Anaise (Michaud) Marquis in St. Agatha. Reneau had a long career working in the grocery industry, beginning in Madawaska and then continuing in California, where he moved his family, October 1956. He retired at the age of 55, at which time Reneau and his wife, Noella, traveled throughout the world with her beloved siblings and spouses, Clovis and Lucille Daigle and Gedeon and Made-line Dionne. Reneau and Noella enjoyed their golden years together golfing and participating in activities in their beautiful Palm Desert Community. Reneau is survived by his wife of 60 years, Noella (Dionne) Marquis, originally from Frenchville; two daughters, Joyce Marquis of San Diego and Judy Gonser and husband, Gary, of Hawthorne, Calif.; three grandchildren, Todd and wife, Michelle Gonser, of Redondo Beach, Calif., Tanya Gonser of Arlington, Va., and Rachelle and husband, Mark Donnelly, of Henderson, Nev.; three perfect great-grandchildren, Nathan and Olivia Gonser and Ronin Donnelly. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Dad and Pepere, we hope you are enjoying your barbecued steaks in heaven. Save us a bite!
