RENO, Nev. – Richard Alden Drinkwater, 68, of Reno, Nev. was taken unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, after a short illness. He was born July 20, 1937, in Brewer. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1955. A proud 21 year veteran he served tours on Korea, Vietnam and other locations across the globe retiring in 1976, to embark on his second career with various gold mines around Elko, Nev. He moved to Reno in 2001. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gloria “Jeanne” Drinkwater of Reno; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Bonnie Drinkwater; two grandchildren, Kate and Thomas Drinkwater; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Paul Headen; also sisters, Jane Carter of Lisbon Falls, Elizabeth Shippa of Bernardston, Mass. and Russell Drinkwater of Fort Myers, Fla. Friends and family gathered Nov. 17, 2005, to honor the life of Richard.
