SEARSPORT and OAKFIELD Rita W. Greenlaw, 84, died July 12, 2007, in Belfast. She was born March 22, 1923, in Oakfield, the daughter of Robert and Amy (Harper) Crandall. Rita graduated from Oakfield High School and attended Husson College. She married Roger Greenlaw, June 13, 1945, and they moved to Searsport in 1966. She attended the Searsport Methodist Church until her illness. She was a past organist and choir director of Oakfield Baptist Church, past member of the Rebeccas, Lioness Club, and the Z.A. Circle. Rita had worked in the B & A office, taught home bound handicapped children, and substitute taught and was a secretary at Searsport High School. She is survived by three children, Susan and her husband, Richard Provost, of Poland Spring, Steven and his wife, Sydney Greenlaw, of Dyer Brook, and Robert Greenlaw and Norma Atherton of Stockton Springs; grandchildren, Jon Provost, Amy and her husband, Martin Doherty, Christine and her husband, Benjamin Boone, Tamara Greenlaw, Garrett Greenlaw, and Meagan and her husband, Jeffrey Walker; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Dyer, Helen Palmer and Jane Greenlaw; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and true and faithful friends, Roy and Marjorie Moody. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger, in 1998; sister and brother-in-law, Lola and Charles Delano; and brother and sister-in-law, Linwood and Leona Crandall. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Saturday at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Interment will be at Oakfield Cemetery.
