CLIFTON – Robert Thomas Parkes, 88, husband of the late Mary Frances Parkes, died March 23, 2004, at his home in Clifton. He was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Clifton, the son of Thomas Archie and Ethel May (Dunham) Parkes. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Corp of engineers. He had been a plumber and oil burner technician for many years. Surviving are one daughter, Linda E. Senter and her husband, John R.; two grandsons, John Roger Senter and Jeremiah Robert Senter, all of Clifton. He was predeceased by a brother, William C. Parkes. A private interment will be held later in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Clifton. Those who wish may make gifts in his memory to the Maine Veterans Home, 44 Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401.
