EAST MILLINOCKET – Robert Willson Harrison passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, at a Bangor hospital, with his loving family by his side. Robert was born Aug. 16, 1920, in Marysville, Kan., to the late Bernard and Alice (McGeeney) Harrison. Bob was a gunner’s mate in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In 1943, he met and married Marjorie E. Mackenzie in Portland. Bob was employed by the Great Northern Paper Co. for more than 37 years, retiring in 1984. Bob was an active member and past president of the East Branch Sno-Rovers Club and a member of the First Congregational Church of East Millinocket. Together, he and “Marge” raised four children who were truly blessed to have wonderful parents. Bob’s children would also like to thank Maine Veterans’ Home for all the support. Mr. Harrison is survived by his children, Robert E. Harrison and his wife, Martha, of Scottsville, Ky., Vickijean Madore and her husband, William, of Lincoln, Evelyn Grissett and husband, Windle, of Granbury, Texas and Mary Ouellette and her husband, Edward, of Brewer; and his loving grandchildren, Nicole, Catherine, Sara, Rachel, Jamie and Amanda. Bob is also survived by his sister, Margaret Lynott of Wakefield, MI; sister-in-law, Gloria Ferland of Millinocket; six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Harrison was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie of 58 years, stepfather, John Davis; sister, Mary Hanna and his great-grandson, Dominick Tennies. Friends are invited to greet the family noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at the First Congregational Church, East Millinocket, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Andrew McLeod officiating.
