PRESQUE ISLE – Roberta L. Mahoney, 79, died March 22, 2007, at a Caribou health care facility. She was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Waterville, the daughter of Edmund and Avice Longley. She graduated from Colby College. She taught reading in Massachusetts. She loved to read and instilled that love in her children. She also loved spending time with family, and talking about her grandchildren. Roberta was a member of the Grant Memorial Methodist Church, Presque Isle. Surviving her is a son, David Mahoney and his wife, Pat, of Presque Isle; two daughters, Kathy Mahoney-Lane and her husband, Barton, of Pleasanton, Calif., and Patricia Mahoney-Rohrl and her husband, David, of Pacificia, Calif.; a brother, Richard Longley and his wife, Mary, of Waterville; six grandchildren, Kevin and Colin Mahoney, Taylor Lane, Lena Lane, Sophia Mahoney-Rohrl, and Emma Rose Mahoney-Rohrl. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at Grant Memorial United Methodist Church, Fleetwood Street, Presque Isle.
