LINCOLN – Rodney A. Kimball, 72, loving husband, father and grampie, died unexpectedly Dec. 18, 2004, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born May 31, 1932, in Lincoln, the son of Edgar E. and Velma J. (Young) Kimball. Rodney was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He drove pulp trucks for more than 30 years. He loved his truck job and all the guys he worked for and with. Rodney was a loving husband and the best father you could ever have. He loved being with his family, loved to have a good time and enjoyed life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Hamilton) Kimball; two daughters, Kathy Smart of Tampa, Fla., and Wanda McLaughlin and her husband, Tom, of Lincoln; a special daughter-in-law, Linda Kimball of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Jaime Smart, Melissa Smart, Cory Kimball and Conor McLaughlin; a great-granddaughter, Mallory Smart; a brother, Leon of Lincoln; a sister, Josephine Brehaut of Winn; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Roger; his parents, two brothers, Francis and Richard; and two sisters, Mildred Hurd and Shirley Dolley. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Young officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Center Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the Heart Association. Donation may be left at the funeral home.
