CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. and DANFORTH – Roger L. Chipps, 60, died June 17, 2006, at home, after a three year battle with colon cancer. He was born March 27, 1946, in Richwood, W.Va., the son of Clarence and Nellie (Smith) Chipps. Roger was retired from the U.S. Air Force and the Space Center in Florida. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fly fisherman. Roger loved the state of Maine and his summer place on East Grand Lake. Roger will be sadly missed at this years Colorado Elk Hunt in which he has enjoyed for the last 35 years. Roger is survived by his wife, Dianne (Levesque) Chipps; his mother, Nellie (Smith) Chipps of Marrieta, Ohio; brothers, Lawrence (Pat) of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and Mike (Fran) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; sisters, Cathern (John) Chapman of Melbourne, Fla., Alice Mick of Sheffield Lake, Ohio and June (Phil) Hursell of LeHugh Acres, Fla. He was pre-deceased by his father, Clarence Chipps; brothers, George Willard and Dickie; and sister, Doretha. Roger’s ashes will be scattered in Maine.
