MILFORD – Roger Warren Olsen died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. He was born Sept. 14, 1947, in Lincoln, the son of Warren and Henrietta (Spearin) Olsen. Despite being sick for many years, Roger enjoyed life, especially the times spent in LaGrange riding the “mule” across the country trails. Roger had a great sense of humor. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. Throughout his life, Roger worked many different jobs. He was a pastry chef at the University of Maine, bus driver for Cyr Bus Lines, reserve police officer for Orono, volunteer firefighter for Orono, scuba diver, oil burner technician for Cota Fuel and master oil burner technician and service manager for Robin-son, Kenney. In 1988 he started his own business, Olsen’s Burner Service. He is survived by his wife, Dianne of Milford; brother, Kerry Olsen and his wife, Judy, of Lamoine; sister, Gloria Wheaton and her husband, Gary, of Otis; stepson, Aaron Plourde of LaGrange; granddaughter, Kayla Plourde of Greenbush; mother-in-law, Helen Dobson of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Dan Reed and his wife, Teresa, of Burlington; sister-in-law, Faye McCormick and her husband, Web, of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Della Day and her husband, Sheldon, of Clearwater, Fla.; many nieces, nephews and friends; special friends, Jay, Lee, Rolfe, Larry, Dianne and Melissa; and his cat, Spooky. A memorial service will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the Church of Universal Fellowship, 82 Main St., Orono, with the Rev. Dr. Bruce M. Young officiating.
