FORT FAIRFIELD – Sandy M. Palmer, 58, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at his Fort Fairfield residence, following a long battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 5, 1945, at Fort Fairfield, the son of Murray D. and Virginia H. (Haines) Palmer. Sandy attended local schools, was a member of the United Parish Church, Fort Fairfield, and was employed by the Maine State Liquor Commission and the Army-Navy Store, Fort Fairfield, for many years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, David M. Palmer. Mr. Palmer is survived by a sister and a brother-in-law, Martha P. and Gary W. Bell of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, later in the spring. Those who choose may contribute in memory of Mr. Palmer to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, One Main St., Suite 300, Topsham 04086; the Ronald McDonald House, Our House of Maine Inc., 654 State St., Bangor 04402-0404; or to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
