BLUE HILL – Schuyler E. Duffy, 60, died at his home in Blue Hill, surrounded by his family Jan. 12, 2004. He was born Feb. 22, 1943, at Blue Hill, the son of Ralph and Mildred (Carter) Duffy. As a boy he spent his summers on Long Island in Blue Hill Bay. He served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. Following his service he became a draftsman working first for Mac Herrick and then started Atlantic Builders with Walter Butler and Dan McGraw and later worked for himself at Duffy Designs in Blue Hill. He married his wife TerryEllen in 1965, and together raised their four children. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, TerryEllen of Blue Hill; his four children, Tiffany Nelson and her husband, Rueben, of Bangor; Barry Duffy and his wife, Tracy, and their daughter, Amy; Tristan Duffy and Patrick Duffy, all of Blue Hill; one brother, Richard Duffy of Brooklin. He will also be missed by his dog, Gillie. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Mildred. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at the Maine Coast Experience Lodge, Route 175, Brooklin, with Rev. Elizabeth Stookey officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an education fund for his son Patrick, in care of the Union Trust Bank, P.O. Box 570, Blue Hill, ME 04614.
