OLD TOWN and MILFORD – Stanley A. Wilbur Jr., 65, died peacefully July 8, 2006, surrounded by his family. He was born March 21, 1941, in Old Town, the eldest son of Stanley Albert Wilbur Sr. and Dorothy Ruth (Carr) Wilbur. He was educated in Milford and Old Town schools, graduating from Old Town High School in 1960. Furthering his education, he attended and graduated from Eastern Maine Technical College, majoring in pipefitting. He was employed as a pipefitter for more than 40 years through Local 716 where he was known as “Stand-By.” Stanley loved the outdoors and working on cars and chainsaws. He loved the game of football, which he played and loved to watch his grandson play. In the fall, he loved hunting with his two grandsons and his brothers. He was adventurous and helpful to his nephews. Stanley was a loving and caring husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was a faithful and active member of the New Life Apostolic Church. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Rose (Briggs) Wilbur; two daughters, Lisa Hanscom and her husband, David, of Milford, Michelle Miller of Milford; two grandsons, James and Anthony Patricelli; three brothers, Ronald Wilbur and his wife, Lois, of Milford, Wayne Wilbur and his wife, Jean, of Forth Kent, Fernald Wilbur and his wife, Jackie, of Milford; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and a son-in-law, Randall Patricelli. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the New Life Apostolic Church, 1136 Bennoch Rd., Old Town. A celebration of Stanley’s life will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Revs. Ronald Doughty and Joey Peyton officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Grave Cemetery, Old Town. Immediately after services at the cemetery, all are invited to return to the church for a light luncheon and continued fellowship.
