HOULTON – Stanley C. Burpee, 88, of Houlton, went home to be with his Lord, Aug. 7, 2005, after a short illness. He was born Nov. 7, 1916, in Oakfield, to Clarance and Ethel (Batchelder) Burpee. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Angus, Allen and Perley Burpee; two sisters, Iva Garish and Evelyn Malone. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Olive Burpee; one son, Larry Burpee Sr. and his wife, Marilyn and their children, Larry Jr., Barry, Julie and her husband, Brian Starbird and Jeffrey, all of Oakfield; one daughter, Janice Carver and her husband, Donis, of Houlton and their children, Randy of Mattawamkeag, Brenda Lord and her husband, James, of Dedham, Kevin and his wife, Lisa, of Dixmont, Daylene Denham and her husband, Gene, of Wiscasset, Craig and his wife, Susan, of Charles-ton; one sister, Minnie Adams of Patten; several nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends may call 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. at the Oakfield Cemetery, with Pastor Kevin Hatch.
