SPRINGFIELD – Stephen A. Stewart, 51, husband of Donna (Bates) Stewart, passed away March 22, 2008, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1956, in Bangor, the son of Donald T. and Jean P. (Merriner) Stewart. Steve was an equipment operator for Thompsons, for more than 20 years. He held a private pilot’s license, did photography and was very proud of his recent venture, the “Wooden Wires” music shop. Steve dearly loved his son, Cody, and assisted him with his life’s achievements. They did everything together. In addition to his wife, Donna and his son, Cody, he is survived by a sister, Donna King of Prentiss; father-in-law, Murray Bates of Brooksville; mother-in-law, Elizabeth MacEachern of Barrington, N.H.; brothers-in-law, Michael, Kevin and Dennis; sisters-in-law, Jacqueline, Patricia, Theresa, Norma and Sandra; numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Swan officiating. Spring interment will be at Belden Cemetery, Prentiss. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in his memory to Mount Jefferson Junior High Band. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
