FAIRFAX, Va., – Suzanne Washburn Meyer died Sept. 3, 2007, in Fairfax, Va. She was the beloved wife of David Dean Meyer; devoted mother of Gregory Russell Myer of Burke, Va., and Stephen Prescott Meyer of New Baltimore, Va.; beloved grandmother of Gavin Gregory Meyer. Also survived by her sister, Judith Cushing Burleigh of Presque Isle; sister-in-law, Bonnie Lee Meyer of Western Springs, Ill.; nephews, Jeffrey David Meyer of Ithaca, N.Y., and Mike Steere of Los Angelos. She was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Bruce Meyer and David Steere. Suzanne graduated from Colby College with a Bachelor of Arts in art history and from the University of Maine with a Masters of Education. She taught art and elementary education in Searsport, Whitesboro, N.Y., Columbus, Ohio, and Fairfax County, Va. She was a 27-year member of Fairfax United Methodist Church, where she participated in adult education and several outreach programs. A memorial service was held Saturday, Sept. 8, at Fairfax United Methodist Church, Fairfax, Va. A graveside committal service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton, with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating.
